Your favorite Trek film?

Star Trek VI

The Undiscovered Country is still my favorite, although I certainly enjoyed the new Trek, and have always loved Khan.

Wrath of Khan? Hmm...

Wrath of Khan has always been our favorite Trek film... up until now. We're not sure yet if Star Trek will truly be our favorite celluloid Trek, but it has made a strong case. From the brilliant writing to the strong acting and excellent storyline, there can be no doubt that this latest installment in the Star Trek franchise is worthy of consideration as The Best Star Trek Film Ever. We just can't wait to see if J.J. and co. can top themselves!

Sorry to Disagree

While the latest installment in the Trek franchise is exciting, it is, in my opinion, not part of what I know as Trek. It is an "alternate" one. I don't need J.J. to tell me or show me how the original crew got together; I have seen them tell how they got together, picked up on in series, episodes and read different version in books. And, again in my opinion, they did it better there.

This is a good story for those who don't know the history. But, like how people try and change history these days, it is NOT how the original was, again in my opinion. But since I am a "Classic" Trekkie (not Trekker...and no I don't live in my mom's basement; Yes, I have kissed many girls and married some, and I do have a life) and I am part of the largest fan run Star Trek organization (according to Guiness books), and I even sat in the center chair of that organization, so I have an opinion just like everyone else.

It amazes me that people now are so gung-ho about Trek, when less than 15 years, Shantner was berating his fans to "get a life!" I know I was made fun of growing up reading the James Blish books. But hey, they were the only game in town.

Those of us who went before today's 'trekkers' went through alot. I know that some of us see this as a revitalization of the franchise. But, again in my opinion, it will never be the best, as the story they tell is one that I don't know, agree with or really care for. Yeah, action, explosions, etc. I have actually seen web movies that have better stories with better actors than what I have seen lately on the screen. Again, my opinion.

Totally understandable,

Totally understandable, ClassicTrek! Anytime there's a new take on an old idea or theme, there will always be fans of the original who aren't happy with or even interested on the remake. Your opinions aren't any less valid, and we appreciate hearing them!
